Calling all moms of girls!

I am trying to find out what measurements to make my tutus for the different sizes. I can't really go by Gloria's size (the 19.5" one worked best for her) because she is supposed to be wearing a 21-22" waist in a tutu right now and she isn't. So...as a general thing can you moms measure the waists of your little ladies and post the inches on here? Thanks! I appreciate it!

Sweet Haven

A while ago I came across a group of people who were getting cute bows, hats, and headbands together for a child who had been diagnosed with leukemia. This hit home pretty hard for me because Haven is just a month younger than my son. I thought about it and decided I wanted to give her one of my bow boards where she could put her pretty new bows. To follow her story you can go to Haven's CaringBridge Page. Please take the time to look through it- she is a vibrant girl with a lot of fight in her!

This bow board would be sold for $45 plus shipping. (It does come with ribbon, but I apparently took the picture before I put them on. There is glitter outlining each letter.)

Zebra Print Love

A week ago I worked on a very cool bow board and was inspired to make a matching frame! I love zebra print and the recipient of this bundle does too! Hot pink, green, and zebra print- how can you go wrong?

The bow board would cost $40 (no embellishments) and the frame would be $7 without the glass and $10 with the glass (sorry- have to buy the glass separately).

My son is a HOOT!

Oh my goodness! I have laughed over this picture SOOOOOO many times since taking it around 8:45 this evening! After making my first tutus today I decided to dress Gloria up a little to show what someone can do with the tutus (the wings, hat, and mini daisy clip). After taking a few pictures of her KJ decided he wanted to get in on the action too! So, with a careful watch on the door so Alan wouldn't see, I got KJ all dressed up and had a fun time taking pictures! I'd say he looks pretty cute! Hahaha! I wonder if there is some sort of manly tutu? Maybe a kilt kinda deal?

Without further ado- the picture!

Gloria got a few great shots in too!

^that is typical Gloria! Goofy Girl!

Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did!

The 8-hour bow board

I enjoyed making this bow board because it was a baby gift that I went halfies on. I knew the baby had TONS of bows already and I knew her name. The baby's grandmother gave me the following hints: hot pink, lime green, brown, monkeys, giraffes, polka dots, and stripes. After thinking it over for a while and a long trip to Michaels I came up with the board shown here!

I absolutely love it but I am kicking myself because I didn't really get a picture of it with the ribbons hanging from it. I had hot pink and lime green ribbons coming from the bottom to hold the bows. For this kind of bow board I would charge $75 because of the time involved and the extra embellishments.

The first Bow Boards

I thought I'd share with you the three bow boards that started my obsession! They all are similar yet unique, but I enjoyed making them so much that I decided to make one for Gloria and so on (you will see the rest later).

This one was for Miss Elizabeth Hope, my beautiful cousin!

The full bow board...
The next two were for a set of sisters: Ashton Paige and Keira Faith! Their ribbons were similar to Elizabeth's.

Notice the rims are different on each? The bows at the top also fluff out and add a touch of dimension to the boards and you can hang the boards by the top ribbon!

The total cost for a board like these would run about $45 because I used 3 types of ribbon and have embellishments on them.

It is finally happening!

Hi everyone! This is the start of an amazing journey that I have been working towards for over a year. Those of you who will see this first have most likely seen my work with bow boards already and some of you even have them! I love how so many people have inspired me to think outside the box by giving me suggestions on what I could do differently- keep those thoughts coming!

I am expanding my bow board business to also include tutus, flower clips, bows, and some memo boards. I will start posting pictures on this blog of my work within the next few days. Please feel free to suggest this blog to your friends so I can get this show on the road! These items are great for baby showers, birthdays, and picture opportunities!

Thank you everyone!
